Reflection
My Literature Review and Research Report was about the Emotional Aspects of Pediatric Oncology Nurses. My goal was to evaluate the both perspectives of the affects to cancer: the nursing perspective, who constantly cares for patients, and the patient and family, the physical and emotional pain they endure during their battle. Every battle story is different but each story has their fair share of heavy emotions attached to it.
When gathering information for my semester topic, The Emotional Aspects of Pediatric Oncology Nursing, I interviewed a Registered Nurse who graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso, Maria Minjares face to face. I decided to interview her because she has had personal experiences herself that helped me answer my research questions.
Writing my research was quite time consuming. I broke down the assignments to do some each day in order to remained focused and determined to adding everything necessary to strengthen my paper. The three to four research questions really helped me further my research and remained unbiased throughout my report. The questions helped me dig deeper into constructing research and helped me remain on topic. If I had the opportunity to choose another approach to writing this paper, I feel I would still used the same method I was assigned to follow. Using research questions to write my paper was more like a guide to finish my paper faster and made it much easier to gather all of my information.
